Lesson from The Stars
The stars in the sky will never shine if it’s not willing to trade the bright, sunny sky with the dark, night sky.
I spent an entire week resting at Bali, Indonesia’s island with exquisite and beautiful landscape. A few nights, the stars are my serenade to sleep. The perks of being in nature. Each morning I wake up, I take time to journal and reflect. Then, on one breezy morning up the mountain, I look up at the sky and I was struck by a thought.
One might think how silly can it be that the star would choose to be in the darkness as opposed to the light.
No one would ever want to trade the beautiful bright sky that’s full of liveliness with something so hideous and dark like the night sky. No one would ever want a life with uncertainty, doubt, nor fear. But, life is not always about what you want. Life is about the things that unravel without you wanting them. It’s about accepting whatever things that are just there.
Hey, the stars will never get the chance to shine if they are not willing to accept that the beautiful shining sky will fade, and the darkness will take over.
One thing, do stars even exist in the morning? The fact is, they do. You just don’t see them. Just like the stars, we do exist when life is bright. But, most of the time you blend in, nothing special. On the other hand, being present although life is dark, enables you to shine the light that is within you in the first place.
I love how the nature speaks to me. Do you ever experience a moment when nature speaks to you? What’s the experience like?
